Watery World

I stitched this little "Autumn Owl" design from The Prairie Schooler's "Autumn
Leaves" pamphlet.  This is one of the ways the design was shown as finished.

Design - "Autumn Owl"
Chart - "Autumn Leaves" #132
Designer - The Prairie Schooler
Fabric - 32 count Lambswool linen
Fibers - DMC - 2 strands over 2 threads
Started - 5 November 2012
Completed - 7 November 2012

The other way to finish the design was with the background filled in with a gray floss.  That's what I chose to do as it gives it a night-time appearance.

While we've had several pleasant days lately, the rains returned mid-week.

The Big Creek looks renewed and refreshed.

The water level in the Quarry Pond is higher and that water is clear once again.

The part of the Big Creek that flows on our property is gurgling along happily.

On a micro-scale, the water in the Ali-Baba fountain...

...provides the perfect conditions for refreshing morning ablutions.

The line starts here!

  1. We've had quite a bit of rain this week too. I always enjoy watching the birds bathe in our birdbath. The ones that use it the most are the blackbirds.

  4. love your walk, and could you provide a full picture of your fountain? I keep looking for something for my yard that the critters, wild and domestic won't turn over.
