As it is The Tuesday Garden Party I can report on my recent adventures on that front.
So I've been able to set out all my ferns and hostas.
I am so pleased with this tender New Zealand fuchsia.
I over-wintered it, most successfully in my small lean-to greenhouse.
The plant not only survived, it thrived, and is already blooming.
This past weekend I was able to find time to pot up my coleus...
You can't have too many coleus in my book!
Back to hostas - I love these minis - I bought them from Sebright Nursery at one of our local plant sales. Sebright has an amazing selection of hostas - of all sizes and colors and leaf type.
Yesterday was all about fuchsias - I potted up over 20 them. They are already beginning to bloom and will do so until the first hardy frost in late October. The hummingbirds love them and so do I.
Oh you potted up so many pretties! I love fuchsias, but sadly, it is too hot and dry here in the summer for them, so I can only drool at the photos. I do love hostas too and all of mine are coming back up from their winter's sleep...we don't have too many varieties here though. Coleus is a favorite too...I need to plant some more of those, but rain is in the forecast much of this week. Happy Gardening!!
ReplyDeletewow you have been busy :) need to pot up my hosta too and also repot my orchid ... that hopefully is tomorrow's job :) love the chart you've finished too :) love mouse xxxx
ReplyDeleteMy husband likes fuchsias, I didn't know that hummingbirds like them too.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy. That's a lot of potted plants. Fuchsias are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - all those plants. You have been busy and I'll bet your yard is the prettiest by far.
ReplyDeleteI love all your plants -- so many varieties. And those coloful pots just pop - I love hostas too! I need to take some pictures of my garden if it ever stops raining. I have one hosta that is gigantic and the texture of teh leaves is so cool -- hopefully we'll get some sun by the weekend. Stay dry!
ReplyDeleteFuchsias have always been some of my favorites too. I bet your hummingbirds are happy!
