Tomato Thursday

This time of year we celebrate, if we are lucky, the bounty of the tomato.
While we've had a tough time with a cold, wet growing season, the Farmers' Market has come through with dozens of ripe, colorful varieties.

I thought this was an appropriate September stitch!
Design - "Tangy Tomato"
Designer - Ewe & Eye & Friends
Fabric - 40 count Sandstone
Fibers - Anchor & GAST
Started - 11 September 2010
Completed - 15 September 2010

As simple as this chart may appear, I had "counting issues" and ended up adding to the horizontal border to better center the tomato.  I also changed the color of the tomato to GAST Simply Shaker "Tomato" - how could I not use that color?

This was some of the bounty at our Farmers' Market on Saturday.
Luscious paste and sandwich tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes...

and heirloom varieties.

And from my sister's Kitchen Garden....
Black Plum

Persimmon
