I spoke too soon yesterday.

Here's a male Hairy Woodpecker

And even better...

While eating breakfast, I looked out the window...

...and there (after months and months of not seeing one) was a Red-breasted Sapsucker.

It was distant and in the shadow of the tree, so not great photos. 

Nonetheless, I was thrilled to see and hear (I went outside) tap-tap-tapping away.

I hope to see and hear this bird more frequently.
