Wednesday's Wildflower Walk

A "untended" yard can reap wonderful rewards.

Mahonia aquifolium Oregon Grape

The Henderson's Shooting Stars (Dodecatheon hendersonii) are in bloom.

Daisies

Muscari

My maternal grandfather called these beauties Rooster Bills.

Also in bloom right now are drifts of Oregon Fawn Lilies (Erythronium oregonum).

My family has always called this wild flower "Lambs' Tongues"
for the mottled appearance of the leaves.

A trio.

Lovely color composition.

Lovely and ephemeral.
