Sparrow Lesson

I'm especially proud of the bit of beading - it usually gives me a hard time!

Ready for a little sparrow lesson?

Here's a Golden-crowned Sparrow. Pretty clear - it has a yellow/golden stripe atop its head. 

But wait!  Take a close look at the bird on the left. No yellow atop the head, a bit of yellow in front of the eye...signifying... 

A White-throated Sparrow.  They are often lurking among small groups of Golden-crowned.  It often pays to look closely.

And now a few male California Quail for your looking-pleasure.




There were three guys hanging out together.
