Walking down to the Big Birdfeeder...
...I noticed fresh wood chips on the ground.
Looking at the Douglas fir, this is what I found.
The shape of the holes, and the location low on the tree lead me to believe this to be the work of a Pileated Woodpecker.
The grass is greening up.
The mosses glow.
Lots of seeds remain on the Big Leaf Maple.
Here's a look.
Our Amaryllis is in full bloom.
Hazel brush is ready for spring.
The fog lifts and the sun shines...
...and a bright blue sky appears.
Can you see who is up in the top of the tree on the right?
A male Flicker that's who!
Hope you are able to enjoy this extra special day.
What a fun walk and a beautiful day!
