It's a nasty, cold morning - very close to freezing rain.
I am always amazed that the little hummingbirds can withstand this kind of weather.
I think we under-estimate how tough they are.
This female has taking to guarding one of the feeders.
She perches on the top of a lawn chair situated beneath the feeder.
No one comes close without her approval.
The birds also like to perch on this fence.
Sometimes they will share!
IT's usually two females that call a detente.
She looks grumpy...
...then curious...
...then resolute.
Yes, those little birds amaze me too!
