On Wednesday I was surprised to see a group of six Turkey Vultures.

The Vultures in the Willamette Valley of Oregon are migratory, and usually by November are a rare sighting.

I decided that this group missed their original flight and were on 'stand-by'.

It certainly was not an optimum day for flying.

The California Quail thought it a fine day for a dust bath.

The males are such striking birds.

They making birding in the winter a pleasure.
