It's much, much cooler today, so I think we can go outside.
Mid-July is about prolific invasive species like blackberries...
...and thistle...
...and teasel.
Fun fact: teasel blooms from the center and then spreads to the top and bottom. Most usual - blooming from bottom to top is far more common.
Douglas fir cone dripping with sap (a proud native tree!)
Hazy hot sky.
Queen Ann's Lace - another invasive.
This tree forms part of the brush in which the birds find shelter in the backyard. It is fruiting now.
Another sky photo. And around the house...
A delicious smelling Oriental Lily.
Echinacea
Helenium - love this color.
Take a deep breath! Another Oriental Lily.
Your sky shots were fabulous, Beth. Interesting tidbit about the teasel! Your flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post. I love working in the garden this time of year, you can enjoy the wonderful scent of the lillies! I have several varieties and the smell is heavenly.
