Garden and Nature Walk

The weather is much improved - cooler with the blue skies back and the smoke mostly gone.

August always seems a bit overblown to me - overly exuberant - the last hurrah.

Mint

Chickory

The Hazel catkins are out now - getting ready for next year's crop of nuts.

Blackberries ripening.

Thistles in seed...

Clouds of seeds.

Ripe blackberries!

The garden has lots going on too...

Toadflax

Sunflowers...

My sister planted a row in one of the new flowerbeds...

...I am very much enjoying them.

Helenium

Douglas' Aster

Gallardia

Coreopsis

Agapanthus

A Helianthus of some sort...

This too...

The biggest bumble bee ever!

  2. I swear the bees here in Fl are soooo big--huge--compared to up north in NY and the dragon flies same thing--they often look like small planes flying around--great photos--
    enjoy the moments, di

  5. Wow--that is a HUGE bee! I have been seeing pretty big ones of all types this summer, everywhere we go! Interesting to watch. So glad that the smoke is gone... and you have Blue Skies! The yard and garden are beautiful, as always! Hugs!
