A Wednesday Afternoon Walk

Look at that sky!  Is there a truer, deeper blue anywhere?
The Ocean Spray () has a wonderful backdrop.

The dots of purple are Elegant Brodiaea (Brodiaea elegans).

I did not manage to get a very good close up of this delicate meadow beauty.

I was pleased to see we have several areas where it is thriving.

Common Centaury (Centaurium umbellatum) is supposed to like damp areas, but we also have it growing on a hot, dry bank.

Oregon has two native honeysuckles.  This is Hairy Honeysuckle (Lonicera hispidula).

No four leafed shamrocks here, but some pretty yellow blooms.

Deep in the shade, there is one shrub of Lewis's Mock Orange (Philadelphus lewisii ) that blooms weeks later than the other plants.

Our little patch of Oregon Sunshine (Eriophyllum lanatum) also blooms later than the large patch our neighbor's have.

I almost waiting too long.  Most of the Columbia Lilies had bloomed and dropped their petals.  I was lucky to find this one cluster still intact and happy.

It will be interesting to see what next week's walk has to offer.
