Yay! I am so pleased with this heart. I've now stitched the Collector's Hearts for 2000, 2003, 2004, 200, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Let's look at birds from littlest to largest.
Here's the littlest - a male Anna's Hummingbird (though the Rufous Hummingbird is smaller still).
I cannot ever remember seeing a hummingbird feed on daffodils before.
Hard to believe that this fat guy is the same bird as the sleek flier pictured above.
He was resting before attacking the daffodils once again.
A little bit bigger - an Oregon Dark-eye Junco.

Larger still - much larger - I had a Raven drop by.
And by far the largest - a Turkey Vulture.
Four of these guys were circling overhead yesterday.
Your finish is very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. The ones of the hummingbird in particular are just amazing! But the junco is a cutie too!
Adorable stitching Beth!
ReplyDeleteAlways love the bird photos. Do you have the heart patterns from the missing years?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and beautiful stitching! Thanks for sharing! MaryO
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a lovely finish and it looks like I have to plant more daffodils for next year. I did not see hummers in my yard yet...

I love that heart! Turkey Vultures... Constantly wheeling overhead around here. We must have wonderful breeding grounds for them here :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching
ReplyDeleteI adore also raven
Yay! A finish--and a very cute one, Beth! Such a wonderful photo of the little hummer dipping into the daffodil :)
ReplyDeleteLove your finish! And the birds! Fantastic! Love the progression from smallest to largest. Of course the hummers are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous finish and I just love the picture of the hummingbird feeding on the daffodils
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture seeing the little humming bird and the daffodil.
ReplyDeleteI like Smitten very much! You did a great job! Maybe because spring is early, and your daffodils were also early, the Hummer took a sample and liked it!?! Hugs!
