I changed the DMC colors for the violets as I thought the original choices were too blue and I wanted true lavender shades.
I chose dark green and cream mats.
I think they made a nice primary frame.
Framed October 2014
I confess that I am really in love with the frame. It is extremely plain, but somehow is very striking and perfectly complements the color of the stitched alphabet.
We've had several gray foggy days. My energy level plummets, and most of the birds disappear in the fog.
I did chance to see a Red-breasted Nuthatch.
And the deer hang out no matter what the weather.
Squirrel!
Solomon was up on the dining room table watching this guy at work.
Update: I have decided that a new year means a new start, so I've dumped my blog list and email comments and am starting anew. It does feel liberating rather than the burden that it had become!
Sweet Violets indeed! Love it framed up Beth.
ReplyDeleteLiberation!! yay!
Foggy here too and cool, but that's what we expect about now. A frame can really make or spoil a needlework project. I like your frame too!
ReplyDeleteBlogging should be fun, not a chore. We all get bogged down and have to pass on reading loads.
ReplyDeleteThe violets are so sweet - love those purply lavender shades! Reminds me I have some Cedar Hill charts in my stash. Need to look at them again. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe violets are so pretty! I've always loved them. Very striking colors.
ReplyDeleteThe stitched violets are beautiful and the frame is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pics of the Nuthatch, Deer, and Squirrel. I love them.
Love the violets! You`ve done a great job with the framing.
ReplyDeleteLove the violets. Delightful frami...squirrel!
ReplyDeleteYour framed violets look so lovely, Beth. I should stitch that one for my mom--violets and lily of the valley are her favorites :)
ReplyDeleteYour deer sure aren't shy, are they!! Great photos as always...
The violets are lovely and the framing really compliments the whole piece!
ReplyDeleteAnd, what lovely animal pictures. Really like the picture of the cute, little squirrel!
The color change you made on the violets are what I prefer as well. Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteLove that stitched piece. It's lovely! Love seeing the deer on your walkway. They're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe violets are so pretty and I agree, the frame is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe violets are gorgeous and the frame sets them off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLove the wildlife pictures too
A lovely framed piece. Love the squirrel photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great framing choice for that piece! The mats frame it perfectly and the frame itself, with a hint of green on the inside, is a very good match! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAh, Cedar Hill. I love their alphabet/floral samplers! You made some wonderful color choices. :)
ReplyDeleteThe violets are so very pretty! The framing is perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteI love those sweet deer, coming right up to visit! We have deer here in Mississippi and I see them often. We also have squirrels...that one of yours looks rather round! Cute!
Very nice framed up! I would have changed the colors as well. Can't have violets without some solid purpley themes going on. :)
