I love the quiet gray frame. This is the perfect time of year to display this - I just have to find the perfect spot for it.
I got photo-bombed while attempting to take a picture of "Woodland Christmas". What would I do without all my Cat Helpers?
I've counted up to five Mourning Doves. They were mostly AWOL this summer, so I'm glad to have them back.
I'm not as good at identifying finches as I should be. I tend to say anyone with a bit of red is a House Finch, when it could be a Cassin's or a Purple Finch. This handsome fellow is a Purple Finch - "a sparrow dipped in raspberry juice".
In comparison this is a male House Finch. He is much less showy. And has a striped chest.
No problem with IDing a Stellar's Jay!
I continue to be surprised at the presence of this male Lesser Gold Finch.
He is a bright spot of color on a dull gray day.
What a lovely piece.
ReplyDelete:)Our pets love photo bombing. The poodles won't hold still for a nice picture I want to take of them, but then plop down in the middle of something that does NOT involve them. ;)
What a cute piece. It is just perfect and so representative of Clos du Bois!
ReplyDeleteThat piece is really cute and apropros! The grey frame is perfect for it! I like it--muchly!
ReplyDeleteLovely framed finish! Oh I love that Gold Finch! And the Stellar's Jay. I know -- you find them boring, but as you know, we don't have them here. lol about the photo bomb!
ReplyDeleteThat piece is so pretty and the frame suits the project so well. What a good little cat helper. I especially love that lesser gold finch and the purple finch, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAll those single stitches would have driven me crazy! The piece looks great in the new frame.
ReplyDeletelove the photo bomb and the frame looks perfect for the woodland christmas ... nice to see all the different birds too :) love mouse xxxx
ReplyDeleteBeth, your framed piece is spectacular! (To make you feel better, I recently framed a piece I started in 1992, completed except for backstitching - finished in 2012!)
ReplyDeleteFabulous bird pictures - love the colours.
I don't know which is prettier - your stellar jay or your stitching. That frame sets it off perfectly and the grey looks a perfect match for the border in the photo.
