A WIP Finished and a Country Garden Tour

BEFORE

AFTER

Design - "Happy Halloween"
Designer - Bent Creek
Fabric - Aida
Fibers - WDW & DMC
Started - ?????
Completed - August 2014

This is another of my Mom's stitches.  She had it 98.6% completed.  I added some French knot eyes and long stitch nose and whiskers.  And ta-da!  It's done!

I toured a garden over the weekend that I'd like to share as part of the Tuesday Garden Party.

I was delighted to be able to tour this Country Garden last Sunday.

If I had to name a style I'd say it has a Cottage Garden feel to it.
Lots of lilies, and clematis...

...and roses.

A nice display of salvia.

I found a deep purple salvia that I now must own - "Amistad".

This novelty dahlia 'Giraffe' is perfect in a country garden.

These are serious gardens and they have the most lovely agapanthus!
Such a wonderful deep bluey-purple.

An interesting piece of garden art.

More dahlias.

This garden lost several large trees this past winter.
It has opened up the garden and allowed more sunlight.

A fun display.

As an informal garden should there were lots of fuchsias...

and asters...

As well as more unusual plants.

This photos shows the country / cottage feel of the flowerbeds.

It is always fun to see what other gardeners are doing!

One year ago today Mom and I visited the Emma Bridgewater Factory at Stoke-on-Trent and Biddulph Grange Garden

  1. Catching up again!! Love your critters, stitches and blooms! Isn't it amazing how smaller birds can band together to chase the bigger ones away!?! I have seen that a few times myself and it never ceases to amaze me.

  5. Love how you calculated how much your mom had done on the WIP before you finished it! Isn't it so rewarding to put the finishing stitches in!

  9. It's so nice of you to be finishing your mom's stitches. Also, it's so nice that you share an interest in stitching with your mom. I envy you that. That garden is gorgeous! The lion head thing on the wall looks like the one I saw at my half brother's wedding. :D
