This turned out to be a sweet little stitch.

October turned out to be the month of comings and goings...
at least as far as birds were concerned.

On the morning of October 28th I had a small flock of six or so Lesser Goldfinches come by.  While this photo is not the greatest, if you enlarge it, you can see 3 or 4 of the birds working away eating aster seeds and agastache seeds.  See - another reason to be a lazy gardener - the birds will tidy up for you!

Here's a close up of a female Lesser Goldfinch.

And here's a close of of a male Lesser Goldfinch.
They only stayed around for an hour or so, and I've not seen them since.

I am, however seeing lots of House Finches.
This trio amuses me - the middle bird is stretched up was was singing away.

Other late October 'regulars' include Juncos...

...and Chickadees.

  8. Fabulous bird pics!! I always leave some of my garden around for the birds ~ so sad that many, in their haste to have a clean garden bed for winter, take so many things away that can feed the birds.

  13. The Chickadees really have distinct coloring! Would have been lovely to hear the singing house finch! I don't hear as many birds around now... sad face...
