Last week I said I needed a couple of more woodpeckers to have a complete set...
Well, here's a not-very-good photo of a Sapsucker so I can tick that off my list.
Early early early in the morning the Robins are hard at work. We have lots of juvenile birds - their breast feathers are a dull orange brown.
And Juncos...
We have lots of Juncos.
Here's a pretty little Golden-crowned Sparrow.
Back to the woodpeckers...I have a matched set now and am so pleased.
A female Downy Woodpecker.
A male Downy Woodpecker.
He has a bit of red on the back of his head. They came to the peanut feeders together and are another reason to have mullein as they also happily eat mullein seeds and use the stalks as perches.
