I love the heart button and the sentiment.

We haven't taken a walk in a while.
There's a break in the weather.  Let's go outside.

If you look closely there are signs of spring.

Water droplets - signs of a recent rain shower.

The moss on the truck of this tree has collected all kinds of tiny plant-lets   I think there is Licorice Fern and Sweet Wood Drift growing.

Sword Ferns love the forest floor.

Here you can see how they happily grow underneath the canopy of Douglas Fir and moss covered Ash.

Our Winter rainfall is far behind our usual annual total.
The Big Creek appreciated receiving some additional precipitation.

I think the Indian or Osoberry buds have set.  That makes sense as this native bush is the first to bloom in the Spring.

I do like the tattered decaying appearance of the Vine Maple leaves.

This is the Big Creek near the bridge to my sister's Dahlia Garden.

I like the contrasting forms and colors of the Oak, Maple, Ash, and Cottonwood leaves.

And this bright mushrooms contrasts nicely with the moss and lichen on the forest floor.

Pink mushrooms!  Who knew?  I can't decide if they are pretty or gross.

Dorothy's Creek is festooned with moss covered rocks.  So pretty!

I hope you've enjoyed today's walk.

  5. I've always loved that sentiment, Beth--never knew there was a chart with it, though... Really a pretty finish with those chocolate and pink colors :)

I'm so, so behind on my blog reading after being up in NY last week--looks like you had a most successful bird count!!
