Finally I've a stitched owl for October!
The Road Not Taken
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Robert Frost
With highly camouflaged predators out and about...
The quail are on constant watch.
From this elevated perch, no one approaches unnoticed.
The bunny was watching too.
The deer are endlessly interested in the domestic cats.
While the fearless Anna's Hummingbirds are totally disinterested.
poor Parvati, the vet is away for several days yet, so she's a Cone Head until sometime mid-month.
aww very cute stitching and lovely photos..
ReplyDeletelove for parvati..
hugs xxx
Hopefully when the vet comes back Parvati will be completely healed and free from being a cone head. Love the new Halloween banner.
ReplyDeleteLovely choice of poem Beth, I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThat is probably my all-time favorite poem, and one whose advice I need to take more! Lovely critters, even Parvati with here questionable choice of accessories. =)
ReplyDeleteI love your stitching. That has always been a favorite poem of mine. I may have to look for the chart to purchase.
ReplyDeleteCute finish! A favorite poem of mine too! Poor Parvati with that cone.
ReplyDeleteI'm so far behind on blog reading / commenting due to my trip last week, Beth! You sure have been productive--your little owl finish is adorable. It's funny, but as my husband and I were hiking through some NC forest last week, I thought of that poem...
ReplyDeletePoor little cone-head--I sure hope she can get it off soon!!
Poor Parvati... Owl stitching is so cute! I love all the pictures..
